Easter Weekend 2012

This weekend is full of activities.  Not for me, but for my little Mr. Social, Zeke.  He is always on the go and ready to have fun!  First up was the Easter egg hunt at the high school football field.  This is our 2nd year to do this and Zeke had a great time last year so we thought we'd come back.  Thanks to Pastor Harold Phillips from River Oaks Christian Church in Jenks for putting this event together for the kids.  This year had way more kids than last...I think because last year we had rain which I think kept some families away.  But not us...we won't melt!  :)  When we walked into the stadium Zekey quickly saw Sage, a girl from his class at school.  On the first day of school he came home and said "Sage is the mom and I'm the dad."  I wasn't quite sure what to think about this!  Ha.  He adores Sage and talks about her all the time.  Needless to say he was excited to see her.  The kids waited at the fence just ready to go hunt those eggs.  When they were able to get onto the field they all gathered around while Harold told the kids the story of why we were all here.  Then it was time to line up for the eggs.  Zeke and I ran down to the very end where there weren't any other kids.  They counted down from 5 and the kids took off.  Zeke doesn't really care about quantity...he picks them up pretty slow.  He would pick one up then say "what do you think is in this one?"  I guess that is good that he doesn't have to be the best and have the most.  I'm okay with that anyway.  After all of the eggs have been collected the kids look inside all of them trying to find a ticket.  If they got a ticket in their egg then they get to turn it in for a prize.  Zeke and Blaker opened all the eggs...no ticket...no problem!  Zeke was just excited to go get in the 'bouncy thingy' in his words.  :)  We had a great morning at the egg hunt.

Oh geez!!

Trying to be patient!

When we got home from the egg hunt Zeke laid down to rest for a while before his friend Sage's birthday party.  He had so much fun at her party.  It was at Tulsa World of Gymnastics.  We have never been to a party there before but I've got to tell you that Zeke loved it!!  The kids were able to climb around on everything and they all had such a great time!!

My precious baby was exhausted after the party.  He fell asleep on the way home and had a good nap.  When we arrived home I carried him into the house.  He woke up when I laid him down and asked if we could color eggs.  I told him I would go get the eggs ready while he rested.  Once the eggs were ready to be colored I woke up my little ZekeyPants.  He took off his shirt so he wouldn't get dirty, smart boy, and headed into the kitchen.  He climbed up into one of the bar stools and was ready to color.  He had a great time.  This was really his first time to actually do this all on his own like a big boy.  :)

After Zeke colored his eggs he hopped into the bath to try and get the dye off his hands.  At that point it was getting close to time to go to bed so we could get up early in the morning for Easter.

Sunday morning Zeke walked into the living room to see if the Easter bunny had come to see him, which of course he did.  He brought Zeke some candy, coloring books, Happy Feet Two dvd, and a Tom & Jerry dvd.  Zeke was very excited and kept questioning how the Easter bunny came here.

It was time to get ready for church and I've got to tell you, my little boy looked handsome!!!  He was all decked out in his nice Easter outfit.  He wasn't too impressed by it and wanted to take it off as soon as I put it on.  However I talked him into wearing it just to church then we would change his clothes.
My handsome boy
The sun is so bright today

We came home from church to change clothes and get ready for our lunch over at grandpa's house.  The funny thing is that by this point, Zeke didn't want to change clothes.  He actually began to like what he was wearing.  I think that he had received so many compliments about how handsome he looked that he started to enjoy it!!  So everyone but Zeke changed clothes and we headed over to grandpas for tacos.  My family loves to eat tacos anytime that we get together.  It was our favorite meal that my grandma would make and so we try to keep with that same tradition today.  When we got to grandpas everyone went into the kitchen to get lunch prepared.  Zeke went into the toy closet and grabbed all of his toys and set them up to play with in the living room.  While he was occupied by toys I decided to go outside and hide his Easter eggs...the plastic kind, not the eggs he colored last night.  So I was out there working hard putting all the eggs in a spot.  Grandpa has a couple of acres so I had a bunch of land to cover.  As I was headed back into the house grandpa and Zeke came walking out.  Zeke saw a bunch of the eggs and wanted to hunt them but he and grandpa looked like they were on a mission and I had no idea what they were doing.  I watched them walk over to the barn.  They raised one of the garage doors and later came out on one of the 4 wheelers.  Zeke was having a blast!!  However he didn't like driving by all of the Easter eggs.  He asked grandpa to stop so he could go pick up his eggs.  He ran around the yard getting all the eggs.  He had so many eggs they wouldn't all fit in his bucket.  Lucky kid!!  Once he was finished hunting his eggs we took them into the house.  By this time lunch was ready.  We all went into the dining room and had a delicious taco lunch.  When Zeke was finished eating he brought his Easter bucket into the dining room and began opening his eggs.  He was very good about going around the table and sharing his candy with everyone.  Once lunch was over it was time to go play around on the 4 wheelers some more.  Grandpa got out another one so I could ride while he was driving Zeke around.  Then Nana and Papa came out and enjoyed the fun!!  When it was getting dark and time to put them away, Zeke turned to grandpa and said "that was fun!  I'm going to do that every time I come over here."  It was really cute.  We all had a great Easter!!

I'm with Zeke, I could do this all the time!!

Zekey loves his Tonya & JoeJoe
Being a good boy and throwing out the eggs he colored so they don't go bad.

We had a very busy weekend, but it was a wonderful weekend.  My family had a fun Easter at my grandpas.  We are looking forward to next year!!
